YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BE A DOCTOR to peddle weight loss products - you just need to be a good salesman. And, the job has been mostly done for you - Americans are trapped in a flurry of magazine ads, billboards, music videos and movies inhabited by unbelievably thin people, whose only goal it seems, is to motivate the fatsos to buy the latest and greatest weight loss fad. Nevermind the common knowledge that dieting doesn't work - it didn't only until [insert your newest dieting scam product name here] arrived! Don't forget to stick a disclaimer in smallest print possible that "We make no claim that these results are representative of all participants on the diet program. We recommend you consult with a physician before starting a weight-loss program" - and you can promise that in 2 weeks they will all look like Nicole Richie on a hunger strike.
If you are a doctor, it gets even better - you can use your clout with your patients to "recommend" the diet to them. "Become a Medifast Medical Provider!"... Talk to you patients about the benefits of the Atkins Diet!.. Get them in The Zone of proper nutritional balance!.. Join the Weight Watchers Family!.. Make the South Beach Diet your eating plan for life! Well, you get the picture. Just make sure not to tell your patients about eating more veggies and doing some exercise - you might find your pool of potential customers dry up somewhat.
